Spring/Summer is alive with the #NewLight Myer Spring Fashion runway that took place in Sydney over night.
Tam Wrigley, host of iStyle TV was there front and centre to watch all the fashion action unfold.
Myer will host 1000 guests at Hordern Pavilion where both the VIPs and paying customers will be able to get up close and personal with 300 looks by 24 brands, including Toni Maticevski, White Suede and Sass & Bide.
Kicking off the night was Maticevski who introduced a lot of light colours but threw in a beautiful deep Burgundy’s and sculpted hemlines.
Throughout the night we saw a lot of A-symmetrical tailoring, feminine soft lines and ruffles.
BY JOHNNY brought the metallic pleating to his designs with fitted tops and bells sleeves.
self-portrait kept to their signature look with feminine lines and lace.
Fitted meets flowing when it came to the women’s fashion scene. While the dresses where fitted on top they where finished off with a flowing hemline.
There seem to be loads of colour and funky print in the men’s department which is looking like steering away form casual prints and looks and going for more of a miss match tailoring.
Alex Perry closed the runway event and was definitely the show stopper.
Alex introduced this seasons colour which is Khaki throughout his designs but also keeping on trend with his tradition styling.

Whether you’re a pro or a rookie when it comes to makeup, quality is key and it can often be a fine line between looking like a natural goddess or an Oompa Loompa. So, naturally we assume more expensive products are higher quality but this is not always the case. Thanks to Australian makeup house Designer Brands you can now look like Miranda Kerr without needing her bank balance, creating high-end quality labels are known for without the price-tag. The main reason we can’t keep out paws off it? Because no paws were harmed in the making of their products. DB is not tested on animals and most products are Vegan certified. So, enough with the formalities, we’d like to share with you our favourite DB products:
Contouring is the coolest kid on the block and seems to be sticking around. We can likely thank the Kardashian’s for the technique where your bone structure is brushed out like an archaeologist searching for fossils. When we stumbled upon DB’s Contour Kit our cheeks were rejoicing. With three shades of mineralised miracles, the palette includes all three steps to nailing your contour: highlighter, illuminator and the contour itself. Makeup artists are called artists for a reason, and if you’re not handy with a paint brush, don’t worry as the easy three-step instructions will leave you with sassiest Mona Lisa Smile and heavenly bone structure. The shades in each kit complement each other to provide the most natural colouring for you skin type. You can choose from kit one or the limited edition, kit two for darker hues. The size of the kit is also something to note, as it’s ideal to pop in your hand-bag for touch ups and for travelling.
Longwear Infinite Gloss Nail Polish:
Nails can often be an accessory in themselves when completing an outfit and there’s nothing more outfit-damaging than badly chipped or faded polish. And, if you’re anything like me, nail maintenance is not my strongest point, nor is waiting for them to dry. When I tried their Longwear Infinite polish I was surprised with the results: quick dry, one coat only, un-chippable and super shiny. Designer Brands HQ say for a five day wear no need to worry about a base or top coat. One coat provides high shine and two coats provide a longer wear and intensifies colour. With six hot colours to choose from, I couldn’t go past the Craving Coral.
In recent times, I’ve found a huge appreciation and importance of mascara and eye power. It’s an instant game-changer whether you’re going for a ‘barely-there’ day or glamming it up for an event. Having tried numerous brands of mascara to both lengthen and define my lashes without looking like a panda within half an hour of application plus eye shadow that didn’t sneak up to my brow, I was in need of something more. Again, DB turned out to be more than a mirage in my desert journey. With the Extend A Lash Mascara, first apply the tubing mascara followed by the hi-tech fibre formula and finished off with another coat of tubing mascara. The result? Up to 8mm of extra length and 24 hour wear! The more coats you apply, the better the lash. Now, the eye shadow palette; eight earthy tones from a light shimmery nude to dazzling black all in the one place and packed up conveniently to pop in your makeup bag. The range of colours complement each other so adding a dimensional eye colour is easy and saves you from looking like Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (unless that’s the look you’re going for and if so, work it). And again, vegan and animal-cruelty free so no guilt when fluttering those lashes. Never again will I dismiss the importance of eye shadow!
It’s been around for a few years now for good reason: mineral foundation provides an effortless and easy coverage. But there’s something bigger and better about DB’s ‘Natural Ground Minerals Foundation’. They’ve uncovered a technology offering the same quality, coverage and wear of other foundations but without the chemicals. Plus, the built-in grinder ensures the foundation goes from pressed to loose at your own fingertips for a fresh and smooth finish which you can instantly feel. Plus, the grinding is kind of fun too (and quick)! After looking into the ingredients of the foundation I was pleasantly surprised and shocked how something that both looks and feels good on my skin wasn’t full of recipes from a scientific textbook. Each shade of foundation has been formulated with Poly-Peptides help plump and firm skin while the texture and softness comes from sericite Mica. Packed with Vitamins C and E reduces signs of aging while the pomegranate extract provides the moisture and brightness. It’s even SPF 15! Hello to a quick morning routine, flawless skin and protection from Mr. Sun.
All these products are available on the Designer Brand’s website or find them in a store closest to you.

The academy season is sure in full swing, and with that, all eyes fall to the red carpet. Last week we saw the bold looks from the SAG Awards where sparkle, deep v necklines and draping chiffon were at the plenty. Perhaps the SAG’s have set the trends for the rest of the season? Check out the top red carpet trends below:
Colours of Royalty
Colour can often be the show stopper when it comes to the red carpet, and royal blues and greens were out to make a statement. Marisa Tomei from Empire 51 nailed the look in this Zuhair Murad gown, adding the gold belt to create extra shape and break up the green and sparkle.
If there is one thing to take note from the SAG Awards it’s to work the ‘v’ and we’re not talking vino. Plunging necklines and deep v’s were all the rage on the carpet. Whether it was Susan Sarandon’s controversial cleavage or Eva Longoria’s perfect pair, the deep v was certainly a show stopper. See Carrie Brownstein for inspo when mixing sex appeal with class.
Here comes the sun
Yellow is certainly making headway on recent red-carpets and the SAG Awards were no exception. Bright and bold was certainly the go for Sola Bamis, whereas Hannah Murray opted for simple yet sunny in her gown. The winner? Lily Rabe, nailing the colour, shape and accessories.
All that glitters
Glitter and sparkle have always been a consistent when it comes to the wardrobes of the stars and this year, it ramped up a notch. There was no escaping the beautiful bronzed embellishments of Eva Longoria’s Julia McDonald dress and the jaw-dropping Louis Vuitton gown worn by Alicia Vikander.
A structured dress may often take the limelight, but it’s hard to go wrong in a classic draped dress. Worked by Joanne Froggatt, Stephanie Drake and Laura Prepon plus many more, it was Laverne Cox who took it to the next level showing a bit of leg, sass and attitude in her Prabal Gurung gown.

With more than 20 years of combined experience, Style My founders, Elin Mai and Tanja Mrnjaus have an extensive knowledge of high street and luxury retail. They’re working stylists, helping customers and industry clients as well as managing style teams for events and creative shoots.
The concept behind Style My comes from the duo’s desire to connect real people and stylists with retailers and to make people fall in love with shopping again.

It’s that time of year when we can pack our winter wear away and make room for the new spring/summer fashions and accessories!
I personally love this time of year as it gives me a chance sort through my wardrobe and have a spring clean.
So today I have brought in the expert, Sascha Griffin from Pinklily who is going to give you some great tips and advice on how to spring clean and organise your robes….
This is going to be fun, so lets get started.
The SACHA DRAKE label stemmed from Sacha’s desire to find the perfect dress to flatter her and her shape. As a statuesque size 14, she was never able to quite find what she was looking for and felt that in the market something was missing – surely Sacha wasn’t the only one searching! So she started out designing a little range of party dresses for women with curves, so that they too, could be flattered and look and feel their very best.
“Women’s confidence so heavily resides in how they feel about themselves and how they feel about their body. My aim was to craft a label that would flatter both small and larger sizes, and all body shapes”, Sacha said.
Today, the ever-growing collection is available at over 100 stockists around Australia. Sacha creates for women who, like her, are doing it all and want to look good while doing it. From day to night, work to play, SACHA DRAKE is for the modern woman who appreciates craftsmanship and quality.
“I’m so grateful be able to share my love of striking, yet feminine design with you through my collections each season. I can’t wait to share the next one with you”, Sacha said.
Here are my daily posts from the “7 DAYS OF SACHA” campaign.
