Last Friday Night

Last Friday Night

Last Friday Night

While there was no dancing on tabletops nor drinking too many shots, there may have been a kiss but I forgot, there was however a theatrical, fun and an action packed performance by Katy Perry at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre as she bedazzled the crowd on her Witness The Tour.

As the Fashion Ambassador for Myer Brisbane City and Myer Maroochydore, I was given the opportunity to meet up with Katy Perry at last Friday night’s concert.

At the age of 9, Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, now famously known as Katy Perry, started her singing career in a church choir which was only natural seeing her parents where pastors.

What would you say to those young adoring fans that look at you and want to be “Katy Perry” one day?

One message I want to deliver is whether you are 8 or 80, anything you set your mind to, you can do it.  You are the creator of your own dreams and path.

What is the key to success?

You just don’t become something overnight, that’s a whole myth, I totally believe it takes a lot of persistence, hard work and encouragement from family and friends.  You need to be with the people that totally believe in you.  Doing what you love most and having fun with it along the way. Success comes with that.

What have been some of the struggles to get you here today?

Surrounding yourself with the right people, friends and family. Don’t work with people that are only going to support you every once in a while because they think your going to make it one day, work with people who are going to believe in you 125% because they are the people that are going to get you somewhere.

That was the message of the night. With so many young impressionable Katy Kat fans in the audience, one message Katy wanted to convey is that you can be anything you set your mind to and to follow your dreams.

It was an action packed 2 hour show with theatrical performances, an abundance of colour, athleticism and eye popping stage props, puppets, inflatable balloons and backup dancers, who’s costumes where just as vibrant as the show itself.

Katy was a girl after my own heart with a whooping 6 costume changes in the space of 2 hours, now that’s a fashion dedication.  Have I found a new best friend in Katy Perry, I think so!
