A phenomenal story of growth and innovation, Bobux is a kiwi company-gone-global. The children’s footwear company was founded in New Zealand in 1991 by parents Chris and Colleen Bennett when they made the world’s first ever Soft Sole.

Not every child will take their first steps at 9 months, 15 days old, so Bobux has designed the Boston to reflect the needs of kids at each stage of their development, no matter their age.

Bobux has since expanded their offering, now providing truly healthy shoes for kids up to 8 years old.

Kiwi company-gone-global, Bobux has followed the launch of their Spring/Summer 2018 Collection with the introduction of their newest street-styled trainer: Boston. Made from premium leather with a wide strap closure and designed with foot health at its core, the Boston is as functional as it is fashionable.

The trainer is launched alongside a photographic series showcasing the unique, everyday style of real families around the world. Ellen Ross, Senior Creative at Bobux led the campaign, with the hopes that the diversity and inclusivity of the series would inspire others to embrace their own brand of style.

“Style means something different to every parent and child, so instead of curating these looks ourselves, we reached out to real families around the world and asked them to create and capture street-styled looks with the Boston that are completely them. The result is a collection of inclusive, inspirational everyday looks that put fun first.”

The all-leather trainer’s Rio Red, Navy, Watermelon and Gold colourways offer a glimpse into the palette of the upcoming Bobux 2019 Collection, due to be released in February next year.

Bobux Senior Designer, Nicola Williamson, developed the colourful leathers personally: “The Boston’s simple, elegant silhouette comes to life with colour. While the 2018 palette is more subdued and sophisticated, in 2019 Bobux fans can expect playful, energetic hues like those expressed through the Boston.”

While style has been the key focus with the release of the new trainer, Bobux design begins and ends with foot development and functionality in mind - and the Boston is no exception.

Bobux has designed the Boston to be an easy, no-fuss trainer that older kids can enjoy putting on independently. The upper opens right up for an easy-on fit and the wide strap fastens over the top of the foot comfortably and securely. Lined with luxuriously soft leather, the Boston delivers on quality, comfort and breathability. Like all Bobux shoes, the Boston is podiatrist endorsed. From the shape of the shoe to the design of the sole, every aspect of the Boston was designed with kids’ healthy foot development in mind.

The Boston is available in stores and online at Bobux.com in limited quantities, but Bobux fans can expect to see the street-styled trainer return for 2019, and if Bobux Design and Innovation Manager, Sam Burton, has any say in it, the Boston will be sticking around for years to come. “2018 marks the Boston’s debut into the Bobux Collection, but with its style versatility, we’re confident the Boston will become a staple in future Collections.”
